Formula One history was made today as the inaugural Miami Grand Prix took place. Max Verstappen, driving for Red Bull Racing, claimed victory after a thrilling and dramatic race. The Dutch driver dominated the race from the start, leading every lap and securing his third win of the season.
The Race
The race started under safety car conditions due to heavy rain. Verstappen took an early lead and was able to maintain his position throughout the race. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, who started in second place, finished in second place, while Sergio Perez, Verstappen's Red Bull teammate, finished in third place.
Key Moments
The race was marred by two safety car periods, the first caused by a crash involving George Russell and Valtteri Bottas, and the second caused by a spin by Esteban Ocon. There were also several virtual safety car periods throughout the race.
Verstappen's Dominance
Verstappen's victory further cements his status as the favorite for this year's championship. The Dutchman now has a 21-point lead over Leclerc in the standings. Red Bull Racing also leads the Constructors' Championship.
